ESSEX DRIVING SCHOOL STREETLIFE SCOOPS NATIONAL AWARD

An Essex driving school has scooped its first national award for its monthly schools for 14 to 19 year olds.
Streetlife Driving School, which covers primarily Chelmsford, Braintree and Colchester, won “Best Driving Initiative 2014” at the national Golden L Fresh Awards in Worcester.
The school has delivered its Streetlife Young Driver’s Education (SLYDE) schools, every first Sunday of the month at Colchester football stadium, to about 3,000 young drivers to date.
Co-business partner Karl Rushen, who as a firefighter has witnessed devastating car crashes, said: “Our SLYDE initiative is great fun and it gives teenagers the chance to start building confidence in driving but it’s also the perfect opportunity to start teaching about the dangers and risks too.”
Co-partner Gary Lipman said: “We were totally thrilled to win this award, it’s amazing to be recognised for the work that we’re putting into our futuremotorists.”
